The picture in my last post of BMW Welt and Museum was taken at the nearby Olympic Tower, or Olympiaturm in German. It’s a wonderful place to get a panorama view of the city and I think it’s one of the must-go place in Munich.
The Olympic Tower has a height of 291 metres and the highest point visitors can go to is an observation platform at around 190 metres. There is also revolving restaurant at around 181 metres which is conveniently named as Revolving 181. Apart from being a observation tower, it’s actually a broadcast tower as well emitting television and radio signals.
As the tower is situated inside the Olympia Park, it is surrounded by a large space of trees, lakes and low rise buildings. It makes the tower standout by itself as there is no other buildings competing with its height. On a nice sunny day, visitors can have a clear view of the city reaching very far away. It’s simply stunning!
