After the 100th Post Special, I hope my readers won’t mind me doing another special with a personal reason: Today is my wife’s birthday and I dedicated this post to her.
This picture shows two of the many resort apartments in the resort. They follow the same Hundertwasser style: Use of curve instead of straight lines and colourful outlook. You can also see the vegetated roof top and because they were built like hills, the two sides of the roof actually start from the ground. As a result, we actually walked up to the roof top from the side. One complaint here is it was not easy to navigate through the vegetation on the roof and given the slope is steep towards the top, it’d be a difficult walk for senior or physically retarded people. I think they can make it easier.
It was an autumn late afternoon when I took this picture and so they looked less like those magical houses in the fairy tales. Nevertheless, while it is still a resort and so we can still feel the sense of commercialism, these little curvy houses did help bring our inner children out and we felt like visiting a Elven village.
My wife loves this place a lot and it would be great if we could celebrate her birthday there. Unfortunately it is not possible now for various reasons and so hopefully this blog can at least bring some good memories for her. 🙂
