After a short diversion to Tokyo for the Weekly Photo Challenge, let’s head back to Greenland and take a closer look at Tasiilaq.
As I said in the previous post, Tasiilaq is not a big town and walking is the only means of navigating around different places. Our hotel is actually located on a small hill and this picture was taken at the hotel entrance. As you can see, the road condition weren’t great and while walking down wasn’t too difficult, the other direction wasn’t that easy. Overall the town is quite primitive and it was like living in the past.
Do you why I took this picture? The subject is actually the guy walking down. He is a Danish and he was the most important man to us on that day and he was going to do something very important. If you want to know about the story, take a look at this post.
