The theme for this week’s Weekly Photo Challenge is Curves. Similar to last week’s challenge, an idea came into my mind immediately when I saw this theme (Last week’s theme was Fleeting, and Aurora Borealis immediately came into my mind) and this time it was Hundertwasser. He is well known for the use of curves in his architecture design and any picture of his works will be a very good fit to the theme. Having said that, this week I don’t want to use an instantaneous idea again and so I looked into my picture library and tried to find something else.
At the end I choose this picture of Jahrtausendturm, meaning Millennium Tower in German. Despite of its name, the building was actually built in 1999 inside the beautiful Elbauenpark in Magdeburg. It is a history of science development museum and completely made of wood. Even though the exhibition centre is not very big, there are lots of interesting exhibits and indeed apart from a very interesting exterior look, the interior is equally impressive. Another special feature of this 6-floor museum is that while visitors can navigate the museum by stairs inside, there is actually an external spiral stairway so that visitors can walk around the whole building and enter into the museum by an external entrance on each floor. What we did was we used the inside stairs to access each floor and then when we arrived the top, we went down by the external stairway.
It is a nice museum for both adults and children.
