I haven’t done a lot of wildlife photography because I don’t have any lens with a long focal length. Yet in a winter trip to Copenhagen, it happened that I had a Nikon 105mm macro lens with me. Moreover, I was using a D90 at that time and so the effective focal length became 158mm. Combined with the macro effect, it allowed me to do some of wildlife closeup shots.
It was February and indeed it was not a good season to visit Copenhagen. Everywhere was covered in snow and we quickly got bored with the white colour of everything. Then the blue wings of this bird got my attention. Since it was resting in the snow, I got plenty of time to mount my macro lens and made some shots. Not too bad for a amateur photographer with amateur equipment, right?
