This picture was taken on the rooftop of Roppongi Hills which is a large cluster of offices, shops, restaurants and other entertainment facilities in Tokyo. If you want to have a nice city view of Tokyo, I’d strongly suggest this place because it offers a 360 degrees breathtaking view. Just make sure you get your warm jacket especially in winter since it’s very windy. You can also borrow a cape for free there if needed.
When I was there I only had a Sony RX100 digital camera with me and I did not have a tripod. It is a very nice camera and I am very impressed by its quick focus speed and exposure accuracy. It also supports shooting with raw. Nevertheless, shooting in such a windy position without a tripod, I had no choice but to beef up the ISO to 3200. As a result the noise level is very high but luckily Nik’s Dfine 2 noise reduction is magical and so I think the picture is still okay.
