I can’t remember when was the first time I heard about Dubrovnik. What I can remember is whenever I heard people talking about Dubrovnik, it was always mentioned together with the word “beautiful”. When I looked at photos or postcards about it, I usually saw a fortified old town being surrounded by a deep blue sea. Similar to the case of Bled in Slovenia, we would like to verify if it’s real or just a product of Photoshop. This time we were luckier, because the weather was good.
Yes it’s truly beautiful but the problem was we need to find a position to capture this with our camera. At the end we found Mount Srđ, which is a small hill with an excellent view to the Old Town and most importantly, we could go there easily by cable car.
The view was stunning especially when the sky was clear. I did fine tune the sharpness and contrast of the picture a bit in Photoshop but the change is not substantial – so it is real.
