This beautiful and colourful apartment was designed by one of the most famous Austrian artists, Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928-2000). His architecture design is famous for the use of irregular patterns, curves and integration with nature. His design can be found mostly in Austria, Germany and Japan. For more information on him, check out this wikipedia entry.
My wife and myself like his works a lot. When we travel to places where we know his works exist, we will try our best to pay a visit. Indeed, we made some trips to certain places just because we know there is his works there. I will post more pictures of his works from time to time in this blog.
This apartment is not a museum and there are people living in it. So it is not possible to visit the inside of the apartment. When I first saw it, I thought “Wow, it’d be cool to live here”. Then I realise it may actually not a very good idea to live there – because I don’t want tourists to be wondering around my home 365 days a year!
